1-day inter-disciplinary financialization workshop
IKD presents:
Research workshop 10:00-4:00, Thursday 23rd May, FutureLearn, Camden
‘Financialization: in search of some much-needed coherence in its operationalization and in future empirical research' led by Pauline Gleadle, Visiting Professor (FASS) and Stuart Parris (OU Economics).
Mentions of financialization have increased dramatically since 2008, within both the academic literatures and the mainstream press. However, what has been largely lacking to date is agreement as to what financialization actually is, something to be addressed in this workshop, focusing largely on the non-financial corporation (NFC).
As discussion of financialization has spread across many academic disciplines, this is reflected in our line-up of speakers. Confirmed presenters include Natascha van der Zwan, (Institute of Public Administration, Leiden University, Holland), Mike Pryke, (OU Geography), Stuart Parris (OU Economics), Pauline Gleadle (Critical Accounting), Philip Kern (International Management, Loughborough-London), Hanna Szymborska (OU Economics), Daniele Tori (OU Faculty of Business and Law) and Gerhard Schnyder (International Management, Loughborough-London).
Tea/Coffee will be available from 9.30am and lunch will be provided.
If you would like to participate in the workshop, please register via this Eventbrite link, mentioning also any special dietary requirements:
We look forward to seeing you.
