To coincide with the 4th annual FSN conference, Ronen Palan will be giving a public lecture at City, University of London on the topic of arbitrage power and the nature of corporate agency today. His talk will draw on extensive empirical research conducted as part of a four-year ERC Advanced Grant called CORPLINK, which focuses on how contemporary firms use complex global networks and international business structures to avoid and evade tax. The event is organised through the Finance and Society Network (FSN), with support from the City Political Economy Research Centre (CITYPERC). It is open to all and free of charge.

Ronen Palan is Professor of International Political Economy at City, University of London and founding editor of the Review of International Political Economy. His research spans the fields of international relations, political economy, political theory, sociology, and human geography. His published books include The Offshore World: Sovereign Markets, Virtual Places, and Nomad Millionaires (Cornell University Press 2006) and Sabotage: The Business of Finance (Allen Lane 2020), with Anastasia Nesvetailova).
